About Me

I'm a mum with 3 children - Chelsea, Morris and Ruby. I live on our family farm with my husband Stuart. OCTOBER CAMP ADVENTURE

We have just got back from the best week camping, 5 families set off to get to Niagra Dam which is east of Menzies.  We stopped and camped for the first night and then got to our final destination.  What a beautiful place, an oasis in the desert!  The goldfields are just amazing, so much to see!

We had such a great group of people and all the kids were fantastic, the words "I'm bored" were never uttered, they kept themselves busy all day long!  We had so much fun with lovely friends -  lots of giggles, lots of yummy food, lots of "strange" tourist destinations, and most important lots of kicking back doing not much at all - brilliant - thanks guys can't wait for the next trip!

DAY 4 - KOOKYNIE, LAKE BOLLARD, ORA BANDA, ROWELLS LAGOON

Kookynie is a ghost town about 15km from the Dam, now there is just a pub running and the rest of the town is ruins, amazing spot, used to be a huge mining town and now nothing - hard to believe!

Lake Ballard - now this place is strange! Apparently it takes 6 hours to walk around!  Right.... well what a shame we ran out of time???  I didn't expect the statues to be so spread out, the view from this hill was quite spectacular.

Rowells Lagoon - Just down to 2 families now!  Another lovely place to camp, a fresh water lake good facilities etc, no water this year though!  Gets full enough to use as a ski lake though so would be amazing to see.  Ha, but forgot to take a picture of it.... sorry!!
